We are currently investigating a security incident that has impacted Nick Scali resulting in unauthorised access to some of our systems.
Based on our investigations to date, we have identified that some of our systems have been impacted. The types of customer information held on the impacted systems are the details on your sales order, including name, email address, delivery address and phone number.No credit card details are recorded on any sales order. All credit card payments are processed through a third-party provider.
While we have no evidence that any customer information has been misused, we encourage customers:
1. Remain vigilant when receiving emails, text messages or phone calls, particularly where the sender or caller claims to be from Nick Scali, your bank or a government agency. Never share passwords, banking details or other sensitive information unless you are completely confident about who is requesting it.
2. Enable two-step authentication (such as an authentication application) for personal email and online accounts, where available.
3. Stay informed on the latest threats by visiting Citizens Advice and the National Cyber Security Centre.
4. Access additional resources through at CIFAS and the Information Commissioner's Office.

What has happened?
We are currently investigating a security incident affecting certain company systems. As part of our response, we elected to take some systems offline while investigations and remediation activities were undertaken.
Are Nick Scali stores still operating?
Yes. We continue to operate and are continuing to complete sales orders and deliveries.

At this stage, we are continuing to complete sales orders and deliveries. Customers should expect deliveries to proceed, although some services and response times may be slower than usual.
Why did it take time for Nick Scali to communicate with customers?
As with any suspected security incident, we first needed to undertake initial investigations to understand the nature and scope of the incident, assess potential impacts. In response to the incident, we took certain systems offline which impacted proactive communications with customers about their orders. Despite the disruption, we are working tirelessly to continue to serve customers while systems are being brought back online.
Has my credit card information been impacted?
Our investigations are ongoing. However, no credit card details are recorded on any sales order. All credit card payments are processed through a third-party provider.

Why do you retain my data after my furniture has been delivered?
We retain a limited set of customer details to support warranty claims, service requests, and after-sales support in the future.
Should customers take any action?
As always, we recommend all customers remain vigilant to suspicious activity and the heightened risk of scams: be cautious of unexpected calls, emails or text messages and do not click on links in unsolicited messages; independently verify the identity of any caller on a number available through official channels; do not provide your online account passwords to anyone, and do not provide any personal or financial information unless you are certain of who you are dealing with; and where available, use two-step authentication (such as an authentication application) for personal email accounts and other online accounts.
